Daily Mail: Prison bans chapel crucifix to avoid offending Muslims By Daily Mail Reporter
A prison’s new chapel will not contain a crucifix to avoid offending Muslim inmates, it emerged today.
Bosses at HMP Lewes have been told the traditional Christian symbol, featuring Jesus nailed to a cross, must not be used in the Grade-II listed Victorian jail’s ‘multi-faith space’.
The room — part of a £1million new block — has been split in two, with one half featuring heated foot baths so Muslim worshippers can wash their feet before prayer.
But the other side, dedicated to Christian prayer, contains just a simple wooden cross and portable alter – both of which can be removed if necessary.
Try to follow the logic, if it doesn’t give you a migraine in the process: Expensive (and highly unreasonable) accommodations for Muslims (but not Christians) are perfectly fine, but displaying a symbol of Christianity on the wall? Oh hell no!
At no point do these idiots ever consider the possibility that the systematic suppression of Christianity might offend, you know, Christians. But I need not tell you where sympathies lie among liberals.
According the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB), the traditional Christian crucifix was erased from the chapel’s blueprints after discussion with a Muslim imam.
If naivete was mass, whoever is making these decisions would create several black holes. Consider: they consulted with a Muslim imam about a Christian symbol. First of all, if they knew anything about Islam, they wouldn’t have to consult with the imam considering that Islam professes total contempt for anything non-Muslim. OF COURSE, the imam was going to object.
The greater question is whether anyone has the right to demand one religion and its symbols be suppressed. Muslims are not being packed on train cars and forced to attend Midnight Mass. As far as I understand, Muslims in England are free to practice their religion without interference.
Do you think anyone in Iran or Saudi Arabia would give a rat’s ass what a Catholic thought or felt?
Amanda Hamblin, chairman of the IMB, said: ‘We see this as a vastly improved facility and very much welcome the fact that the prison has an imam.
‘It is key that everyone will have access to a decent place of worship whether they are Muslims, Christians or any other faith.
So an imam is employed by the prison, but hanging a crucifix or a cross in the prison prayer room is a problem.
Does hanging a crucifix or cross on the wall of a prison render the place indecent?
‘[T]he facilities were very poor before. Now they have been set up with a lot of consultation and thought given to how to make it fit for purpose, fit for access and fit for the religious needs of our prisoners, whatever those may be.’
A crucifix or cross did not hamper “access” or “the religious needs” of your prisoners, unless one of those needs was the suppression of one religion in favor of another.
A source at Lewes Prison, which houses 668 convicts, said he was not surprised by the decision to ‘drop Jesus’ from show.
He added: ‘This is typical. On one side of the room there are heated foot baths for the Muslim inmates, but on the other side there is this silly little movable alter that can be hidden away at a moment’s notice.
‘And there is just a wooden cross, not a crucifix showing the suffering Jesus went through, because those in power thought it might offend the Muslims.’
He continued: ‘I don’t think the Muslim prisoners would give a monkeys to be honest, it’s just the normal PC brigade poking its nose in when it isn’t needed.’
If this man is correct, Muslims may not be bothered at all by crosses and crucifixes. No matter. The mindless liberals running the show will assume offense and then act on that assumption.
This is the latest in a very long line of examples of “anarchy in the U.K.” The misguided people controlling England and institutions continue to take a bulldozer to its long history, its language, religion, culture, traditions, etc.
Nothing is safe.
Is anyone fighting this open contempt and systematic censorship? Do the English understand that they are quickly committing cultural suicide all in some foolish and delusional effort to spare the feelings — FEELINGS — of those who have immigrated into their land? (1) Do they even suspect the harm they are causing?
Entire generations made England a global super power. Now it can barely control its own borders while it is openly embarrassed of anything remotely related to its heritage. No need to worry about the enemy without when the enemy within is infinitely worse. You know, kind of like the United States.
For those Muslims and English liberals who sincerely believe that a cross is offensive,
here are 14:

For those Muslims and English liberals who agree that a crucifix is offensive, here’s a big one:

(1) I don’t mean to imply that human emotions are not of great value; they are. I can be quite emotional about all sorts of matters. But when emotions cloud or eliminate any rational thought, they then lose any value they have. Too many people making serious decisions on matters of public policy live their lives ignoring any need for logic and rationality. They are usually known as liberals. It would be bad enough if they acted in this manner in their personal lives, but their actions impact millions of innocent people. So when a prayer room his constructed for prisoners, it is fair to make reasonable accommodations for all faiths. Requesting a copy of a Quran, for example, would be reasonable. Installing foot baths with warm water is far from reasonable. It’s bloody asinine and unnecessary. (Imagine Christians getting away with such an outlandish request. What’s with Muslims and their bizarre foot/shoe fetish?) Speaking of shoes, my message to Iraqis: stop throwing your shoes at my President or waving them in protest, you ingrate weirdos. President Bush merely put his entire career and life on the line to do the job that your people failed repeatedly to do: eliminate the ruthless and sadistic dictator who created your nation into a prison. If you don’t have the civility to express a modicum of appreciation to this man, then kindly shut the fuck up.

Al-Qaida No. 2 to US: Overcome meltdown with Islam
Al-Qaida’s No. 2 leader appeared in a new video posted Friday calling on Americans to embrace Islam to overcome the financial meltdown, which he said was a consequence of the Sept. 11 attacks and militant strikes in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Ayman al-Zawahri, whose 80-minute recording touched on a number of subjects, also lashed out at Afghanistan’s government and said any U.S. gains in Iraq will be temporary.
Zawahri’s new recording came in the form of a question-and-answer session with an off-camera interviewer.
Appearing in a white turban and robe, Zawahri discussed the roots of the U.S. economic crisis. He said it was a repercussion of the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States, and that the crisis would continue “as long as the foolish American policy of wading in Muslim blood continues.”
“The American economy was afflicted by a downturn and loss of investor confidence in the market following the events of Sept. 11,” he said.
Actually, our economy recovered. The current crisis is unrelated to September 11th and due to the interference in our economy thanks to the Democrat Party.
“The modern economy has been destroyed by the strikes of the mujahedeen (in Iraq and Afghanistan) and usury,” he said, using the Arabic term for holy warriors.
Under Islamic Sharia law, usury, like drinking alcohol, is among the grand sins.
And then you wonder why Islamic countries are stuck in a time warp?
Murdering innocent people, on the other hand, is encouraged.
Zawahri then called on the American people to “embrace Islam to live a life free of greed, exploitation and forbidden wealth.”
Boy, someone has been reading Karl Marx. As for Islam, fuck you. I am not interested in converting people by force or murdering them.

Gunmen kill at least 78 in attacks across Mumbai By RAMOLA TALWAR BADAM
Teams of gunmen stormed luxury hotels, a popular restaurant, hospitals and a crowded train station in coordinated attacks across India’s financial capital Wednesday night, killing at least 78 people and taking Westerners hostage, police said. A group of suspected Muslim militants claimed responsibility. An explosion followed by a raging fire struck one of the hotels, the landmark Taj Mahal, early Thursday.
Screams could be heard and enormous clouds of black smoke rose from the at the century-old edifice on Mumbai’s waterfront. Firefighters were spraying water at the blaze.
The attackers specifically targeted Britons and Americans, witnesses said. Fires burned and gunfire was heard for hours. Officials said at least 200 people were wounded.
[...]
An Indian media report said a previously unknown group calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen had claimed responsibility for the attacks in e-mails to several media outlets. There was no way to verify the claim.

Yorkshire Post (UK): Muslim killed Catholic girl in love with flatmate By Jeni Harvey
A TEENAGER was brutally murdered by her boyfriend’s Muslim flatmate because he did not approve of him going out with a Catholic.
Lidia Motylska, 19, was strangled in an alleyway in Leeds by Iraqi immigrant Abobakir Jabari who objected to his Kurdish flatmate’s relationship with her.
[...]
The court heard he garrotted her from behind, using the cord from his tracksuit bottoms, before inflicting “gratuitous” wounds on her lifeless body. He stabbed her repeatedly in the chest and stomach and slit her throat.
[...]
The court heard that Jabari grew up in Iraq and was conscripted to the Iraqi army but then deserted. He became involved with the Communist party and later helped opponents of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s regime flee to Syria.
Al Jazeera: Afghan girls scarred in acid attack
Five Afghan schoolgirls have been attacked with battery acid by suspected Taliban fighters in the southern city of Kandahar.
The attack on Wednesday occurred when two men on motorbikes confronted the students outside the Mirwais Nika Girls High School.
Two girls were seriously injured by what was discovered to be battery acid.
School girls in Kandahar are easily identifiable by their uniform — black trousers, a white shirt, black coat and a headscarf.
“We were on the way to school when two men on motorbikes stopped next to us. One of them threw acid on my sister’s face. I tried to help her and then they threw acid on me too,” said Latefa, a 16-year-old student.
“We were shouting and people came to see what was going on, then the two men escaped,” she said.
Latefa, who did not give her family name, was hurt and Shamsia, her 18-year-old sister, remains in a serious condition with acid burns across her face.
Girls were banned from attending schools under the Taliban government, which ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001.

CNS: Images on Soccer Balls Offend Muslim Sensibilities By Patrick Goodenough

An Islamic clerics’ group in South Africa is protesting the appearance of Koranic text in advertising and promotional merchandise for the soccer World Cup, which the country is hosting in 2010.
At issue are soccer balls featuring images of flags of the world, including those of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq. All three flags include words from the Koran.
The Council of Muslim Theologians, based in Johannesburg, said in a statement that the use of text which Muslims consider sacred “has the potential of offending adherents of the Islamic faith.”
[...]
Although Muslims comprise less than two percent of South Africa’s population, the community is an influential one, with activists frequently protesting against Israeli and American policies.
[...]
This is not the first time the multi-flag soccer ball has upset Muslims. In the summer of 2007, U.S. troops in Afghanistan were accused of insulting Islam after they distributed balls, some of them featuring the flags, to children in Khost province.
Media reports said at the time that local mullahs complained, and around 100 people held a protest demonstration. A U.S. military spokesman was quoted as expressing regret for causing offense, and saying “the distribution of soccer balls was done in the spirit of goodwill, something that we hoped would bring Afghan children some enjoyment.”
The offending balls on that occasion included a Saudi flag, which features a sword and the Arabic script for the “shahada” – the Koranic declaration of faith that states, “There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger.” Because of Islamic sensitivities, the Saudi flag is never flown at half-staff.
The Iranian flag features stylized text repeating the phrase Allahu Akbar (Allah is greater); Iraq’s national flag also includes the phrase, in the middle of the central white stripe.
So sacred text on national flags is alright; just on soccer balls it’s a problem? You should have told us before we made the balls.
And there are people who will actually listen attentively to these silly complaints and apologize for minor offenses even while trying to perform a good deed toward children. Muslims in Khost were not able to provide their children soccer balls. When someone was kind enough to do so, they actually find a reason to complain. Jealousy comes in many forms.
The dhimmitude of the West continues.
As more time passes, the more it becomes apparent that Muslims are governed by many things, but logic and intelligence sure as fuck are not among them.

Taliban assassinate Christian relief worker, world yawns By Michelle Malkin
The Scotsman: Assassinated by Taleban for ‘crime’ of being a Christian By Jerome Starkey in Kabul and Sam Marsden
A BRITISH aid worker gunned down in Kabul yesterday was murdered because she was a Christian, the Taleban claim.
Gayle Williams, 34, was shot at close range by two men on a motorbike, in a residential district of the Afghan capital popular with missionaries.
Eyewitnesses said she collapsed in a pool of blood, after the men fired six shots from a pistol, hitting her in the chest and legs.
Daolad Khan, who was working on a building site directly opposite the murder scene, said: “They raced up the street and stopped in front of the lady. They took out a gun and shot her on the spot. Then they rode off.”
The Taleban said they carried out the attack on the grounds that Ms Williams was trying to convert people to Christianity. “This woman came to Afghanistan to teach Christianity to the people of Afghanistan,” militant spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said. “Our (leaders] issued a decree to kill this woman.”
Williams was working for a British-based Christian charity called Serve Afghanistan. Staff there insisted she had never tried to convert others.
The Stalinist media finds it fitting to cover the slightest offense, however petty, when it involves Muslims.
When Christians and Catholics are murdered, however, this same media has nothing to report.
How many more innocent people must die in the name of Islam? When does this end?
May God’s peace be with her friends and family.

The Sun: Video game pulped over Koran ditty by Derek Brown
SONY have had to recall and dump millions of copies of a new PS3 computer game because Muslims have taken offence to it.
The ultra-cute platform game LittleBigPlanet was due to hit shop shelves next Friday but hardline Muslims are furious at one of the songs.
A track recorded by Grammy award winner Toumani Diabate – himself a Muslim – quotes two lines from the Koran.
The words used by Mali-born Diabate translate as “Every soul shall have a taste of death” and “All that is on Earth will perish.”
Hardliners who have seen review copies of the game say mixing words from the Koran with music is deeply offensive and demanded Sony take action. The furore will potentially cost the firm millions of pounds.
It will now be released sometime in November. One Muslim game player said on an Internet messageboard: “We consider the mixing of music and words from our Holy Koran deeply offending.” In an appeal to Sony he added: “We hope you would remove that track from the game immediately.”
A spokesman for Sony said last night: “During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Koran.
“We have taken immediate action to rectify this and sincerely apologise for any offence this may have caused.”
The severity of the Islamic community in defending their faith defies explanation. If average Muslims seek such stringent controls on religion, perhaps they ought not live in Western countries.
You cannot please chauvinistic bullies. And very often, Muslims have behaved exactly that way.
Shame on Sony for their cowardice.

McClatchy: Thousands of Christians flee killings in Mosul by Leila Fadel
Christians in Mosul are fleeing their homes after a spate of killings this week that left 12 Christians dead in one of the largest Christian communities in Iraq .
The killings follow large protests by the community last month against the passage of the provincial elections law. An article that would give representation to Christians and other minorities was removed from the law before its passage.
Now the last safe haven for Christians is gone, said Canon Andrew White the vicar of St. George’s church in Baghdad .
After a spree of killings and forced evictions of Iraqi Christians in Baghdad last year, many fled to Mosul . But even there they could not escape the danger. In February of this year the Archbishop Paulos Faraj Raho of Mosul was kidnapped and killed.
“Christians are being killed in the only place they felt safe, in Ninevah,” White said, referring to the province of which Mosul is the capital. “This is where they fled to and now there’s no safe place for them.”

Iran makes it a capital offence to change faith By: George Conger.
The Iranian parliament has passed the first reading of a bill that imposes the death penalty on Muslims who convert to another faith. By a vote of 196 to seven, with two abstentions, the Majlis passed the “Islamic Penal Law” bill on Sept 9.
The law, which will now be referred to committee for final drafting and possible amendment, mandates the death penalty for male adult Muslims who convert to another faith. Women converts are to be jailed for life. Those who practice witchcraft will also be condemned to death.
The law’s reach extends beyond the borders of Iran, and gives the government the authority to enforce the death penalty on any Muslim anywhere in the world who leaves the faith. While Iranian Islamic law, or Sharia law, provides for the execution of converts, the “Islamic Penal Law” would see these sanctions added to the country’s civil laws.

Flip-flops help vent Egyptians’ frustration by Ramadan Al Sherbini
Egyptians have found out that for less than two US dollars, they can safely vent their resentment at perceived lop-sided US policy in the Middle East.
In recent months, local vendors have been in good business, selling flip-flops decorated with the stars and stripes.
“These slippers are in high demand apparently because they provide the chance to express dissatisfaction with the American policies without running the risk of being arrested or beaten up in street protests against America,” Atta Fadl, a footwear vendor in the Islamic Cairo district of Al Sayeda Zainab, told Gulf News.
Fadl sells the footwear for 10 pounds ($1.8) per pair and says they are in high demand.
Egypt, a major US ally in the region, is the second biggest recipient of the American aid after Israel. American sentiment runs especially high in Egypt because the US is widely perceived as pro-Israeli.
The flip-flops are actually manufactured in China, which is capitalising by the large anti-US market in Egypt, a local street vendor told Gulf News.
As of yet, there has been no comment from Egyptian trade officials or the US embassy in Cairo.

Israel Today: Saudi girl executed for becoming Christian
A young girl in Saudi Arabia was brutally executed by her Muslim father this week after he learned his daughter had converted to Christianity.
Middle East business news website Zawya.com reported that the man, who is a prominent member of a “virtue committee,” first cut out his daughter’s tongue and held a one-sided religious debate with her. He then burned his daughter alive.
Observant Muslims hold that their Prophet Mohammed taught that Muslims who convert to any other religion must be killed, often in extremely brutal fashion.
Brutal as this father’s actions were, they did carry a bit of unintended symbolism. Much like he brutally forced an argument on his daughter without her being able to respond, so do some Muslims wish to do the same on the West.
And some dhimmitude from the Netherlands:

AFP: Iran swimmer avoids Israeli pool showdown in Beijing
An Iranian swimmer pulled out of the Olympic Games men’s 100m breaststroke heats on Saturday, just minutes before he was due to compete against an Israeli rival.
Mohammad Alirezaei’s lane one was empty when the field left the starting blocks while Israel’s Tom Beeri, starting in lane seven, finished fourth.
Israel, the Middle East region’s sole if undeclared nuclear power, considers Iran its main strategic threat because of its nuclear programme and repeated predictions of the Jewish state’s demise by senior Iranian leaders.

It has come under the spotlight several times for alleged links to extremism.
The Muslim cleric, Abu Omar, who was known for his fiery preaching, says he was kidnapped on his way to the mosque in 2003.
He claims he was then transferred to Egypt, where he was tortured.
Twenty-six suspected CIA agents and several Italian intelligence officials are currently on trial in Milan over his alleged rendition.

It seems that Muslims in the U.K. itch for an excuse to bully the Brits they chose to live among.
And why not? As usual, the Brits comply fully and completely with any demand made on them and even offer apologies.
Telegraph: Apology over ‘offensive’ puppy police advert after Muslim complaints By Simon Johnson
Muslims have complained over a police advert featuring a puppy sitting in an officer’s hat.
A police force has apologised to Islamic leaders for the “offensive” postcard advertising a new non-emergency telephone number, which shows a six-month-old trainee police dog named Rebel.
The German shepherd puppy has proved hugely popular with the public, hundreds of who have logged on to the force’s website to read his online training diary.
But some Muslims in the Dundee area have reportedly been upset by the image because they consider dogs to be “ritually unclean”, while shopkeepers have refused to display the advert.
Tayside Police have admitted they should have consulted their ‘diversity’ officers before issuing the cards, but critics argued their apology was unnecessary.
Richard Cook, director of the Campaign Against Political Correctness in Scotland, said: “Britain is the greatest dog-loving country in the world.
“In our culture, dogs are a man’s best friend. I don’t think Andrex are likely to be dropping the puppy dog from their adverts and for the police to apologise is ludicrous.”
Rebel has proved a popular recruit for Tayside Police and is about to venture out onto the streets, having just completed his course of inoculations.
He was given his name after visiting St Ninians Primary School in Dundee where pupils put forward hundreds of ideas of what he should be called.
But some Islamic scholars believe that dogs are impure and therefore ‘haraam’ – or forbidden – except for use in hunting or farming, and that it is not hygienic to keep a dog in the house.
They say that the “impurity of dogs is the greatest of animal impurities”, and anyone who touches one must wash the body part that has come into contact with the animal seven times.
Mohammed Asif, a Dundee City councillor who sits on the Tayside Joint Police Board, said the postcards had been raised this week with John Vine, the chief constable.
He said: “My concern was that it is not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards. It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities. The police should have understood.
“Since then the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part and that if they had seen it was going to cause upset they would not have done it.
“People who have shops just will not put up the postcard. But the police have said to me that it was simply an oversight and they did not seek to offend or upset.”
A spokesman for Tayside Police said that Rebel had proved “extremely popular” with children and adults since he joined the force aged six weeks.
He added: “His incredible world-wide popularity — he has attracted record visitor numbers to our website – led us to believe Rebel could play a starring role in the promotion of our non-emergency number.
“However, we did not seek advice from the force’s diversity adviser prior to publishing and distributing the postcards. That was an oversight and we apologise for any offence caused.”
Incredible. Multiculturalism and cowardice are eating away at the West. Ironically, while multiculturalism claims (absurdly) that all cultures are of equal value and validity, the belief is quite different when put into action. The British hardly claim that their culture is equal to anything, but rather is often willing to suppress or ignore it when anyone (regardless of logic or justification) claims to be bothered, offended, outraged, etc.
For once, I’d LOVE to hear a British politician publicly state the obvious: “We live in the United Kingdom; this is not Iran. Now feel free to go fuck yourselves.”
UPDATE: Apparently Muslims are not as offended as I thought. If that is true, then the Tayside Police look even more retarded than they did yesterday.
