The Holy See: Obama is “Arrogant”

Vatican official accuses Obama of ‘arrogance’

A senior Vatican official on Saturday attacked US President Barack Obama for “arrogance” for overturning a ban on state funding for family-planning groups that carry out or facilitate abortions overseas.

It is “the arrogance of someone who believes they are right, in signing a decree which will open the door to abortion and thus to the destruction of human life,” Archbishop Rino Fisichella was quoted as saying by the Corriere della Sera daily.

Fisichella is president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, one of a number of so-called pontifical academies which are formed by or under the direction of the Holy See.

“What is important is to know how to listen . . . without locking oneself into ideological visions with the arrogance of a person who, having the power, thinks they can decide on life and death,” he added.

Obama signed the executive order cancelling [sic]the eight-year-old restrictions on Friday, the third full day of his presidency.

The so-called “global gag rule” cut off US funding to overseas family planning clinics which provide any abortion services whatsoever, from the operation itself to counselling, referrals or post-abortion services.

Speaking of the Vatican, it is finally entering the world of technology via YouTube.

Pro-Abortion Obama to Send American Tax Dollars Overseas for Abortion

Below is an e-mail I received from Marjorie Dannenfelser, the President of the Susan B. Anthony List:

Sadly, what I have been warning you about has come to pass.

Today, in a quiet, low-key ceremony, President Obama, has overturned the pro-life Mexico City Policy.

The Mexico City Policy, which President Bush enacted on his first day in office, was originally established by President Reagan to keep your money from overseas abortion providers.

President Obama campaigned on finding ‘common ground’ on abortion policy, but his first presidential decision to roll back the commonsense Mexico City Policy signals to American taxpayers that the abortion bailout has begun.

It’s unfortunate that President Obama has made subsidizing international abortion groups one of his first priorities, even as abortion numbers here at home are on the decline. America should respond to women’s needs in developing countries with real assistance that also upholds their dignity, not by promoting or paying for abortions.

I am disappointed by President Obama’s decision to bypass the will of American taxpayers and promote the radical agenda of Planned Parenthood and the abortion lobby.

President Obama tried to pull a fast one on the country by holding a quiet ceremony on a Friday evening when the mainstream media wasn’t paying attention. President Obama must know how unpopular the funding of international abortions is, if he is trying so hard to hide it.

Welcome to “change” but don’t expect any “hope” for the unborn child.

Remember, this is the same man who voted AGAINST treating babies who survived an abortion. Barbara Boxer, the pitbull of the Senate, is not nearly as ruthless and frigid as our new Socialist-in-Chief.

Ten Obama cult members supporters , apparently oblivious to Senator Obama’s unfailing support for infanticide, did nearly the same, forming a group called “Unborn for Obama”.

S.C. Dem Chairwoman Smears Palin: “she hasn’t had an abortion.”

I thought pro-choicers were all about privacy*?

Unless the woman is a conservative on her way to the White House?

The Politico’s John Martin writes:

S.C. Dem chair: Palin primary qualification is she hasn’t had an abortion

South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate “whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”

Palin is an opponent of abortion rights and gave birth to her fifth child, Trig, earlier this year after finding out during her pregnancy that the baby had Down syndrome.

Fowler told my colleague Alex Burns in an interview that the selection of an opponent of abortion rights would not boost McCain among many women.

Hey, for liberal women, I thought not having an abortion is a helluva achievement.

You’re all class, Ms. Fowler. You have liberal hypocrisy* mastered. What the hell have YOU accomplished in YOUR life, Ms. Fowler? Besides being a party partisan hack.

As for the biased Jonathan Martin, below is my e-mail to him:

Dear Mr. Martin,

I was somewhat amused to read your assertion that “Palin is an opponent of abortion rights…”

Palin views human life as precious and worthy of defense at all its stages. She understands what science has confirmed decades ago: the meeting of sperm and egg forms 46 chromosomes, the genetic blueprint for human life. On the other hand, you choose to ignore a basic principle of embryology and resort to word play.

For the sake of your already disgraced profession, at least pretend to have some objectivity.

Disappointed,

____________

I won’t hold my breath. Much like other members of his profession, Jonathan Martin merely uses his keyboard to make petty political points as if his readers are unable to smell the manure he sows across the internet.

Shame on Martin and those who bastardize journalism.

UPDATE: Fowler apologizes for abortion remark

South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler, facing criticism for her remark to Politico’s Alex Burns about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, issues an apology:

“I personally admire and respect the difficult choices that women make everyday [unless that decision permits the unborn to live -- Ed.] , and I apologize to anyone who finds my comment offensive [Wow, what a sincere apology. Your comment was outrageous, you infanticide supporting goon. -- Ed.]. I clumsily was making a point ['clumsy' is damn right. -- Ed.] about people in South Carolina who may vote based on a single issue. Whether it’s the environment, the economy, the war or a woman’s right to choose [Euphemism alert. 'Right to choose' what? Coward. -- Ed.] , there are people who will cast their vote based on a single issue. That was the only point I was attempting to make.”

She even can’t apologize well. Carol Fowler, please quit. You’re actually harming your own party, you’re ineffective and, as you made clear, clumsy.

Wake Up, Catholics

NRO: Real Change — Catholics don’t stop being Catholic at the voting booth By Carl A. Anderson

It is time that Catholics demand real change — and real change means the end of Roe v. Wade. Real change is possible, but it is difficult. First, the political manipulation of Catholic voters by abortion rights advocates needs to end. It is time to stop creating excuses for voting for pro-abortion rights politicians. It is time that Catholics shine a bright line of separation between themselves and all those politicians who defend the abortion rights regime of Roe v. Wade.

During the Pope’s visit to the United States in April, he urged those gathered at Yankee Stadium to protect “the unborn child in the mother’s womb.” That statement drew the loudest, longest applause of his trip. In this election year, when the Catholic vote is crucial, politicians who choose to ignore that thunderous response do so at their peril.

Imagine the effect if this year millions of Catholic voters simply say “no” – no to every candidate for every office of every political party who supports abortion rights.

It’s time Catholics stop accommodating pro-abortion-rights politicians and it’s time to start demanding that they accommodate us. This is the only decision that offers the real chance for real change, because no candidate or political party can withstand the loss of millions of Catholic voters in this — or any other — election. In this election, if a Catholic cannot vote for the pro-life candidate, then not voting for that office may be the sincerest expression of faithful citizenship.

Petition Against Obama’s Ruthless Position on Abortion

National Right to Life Committee: Stop Obama Petition

America does not agree with you, Senator Obama.

Polling data shows that 83% of Americans disagree with your extreme position in favor of abortion on demand.

America disagrees with your position against a Partial-Birth Abortion Ban.

America disagrees with your opposition to Parental Notification when abortions are done on minor daughters.

America disagrees with your support of taxpayer funding of abortion at home and abroad.

America believes infants born alive deserve protection and care, and opposes your three votes against protecting babies who survive abortion (Born Alive Infant Protection Act) in Illinois.

Therefore, we strongly urge you, Senator Obama, to rethink your radical support for abortion.

Surprise — Senator Obama Dodges Question on the Unborn

Reuters: Obama says pointed abortion query “above his pay grade”

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama side-stepped a pointed query about abortion on Saturday by “mega-pastor” Rick Warren during a televised forum.

Asked at what point a baby gets “human rights,” Obama, who strongly supports abortion rights, said: “… whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity … is above my pay grade.”

[...]

Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who followed Obama onto the stage of the nationally televised event, was more blunt and more emphatic.

He said a baby’s human rights began “at the moment of conception … I have a 25-year pro-life record.”

Despite having attended Harvard law school, it’s regrettable that Obama is such a dishonest and uninformed fool.

Human rights, inherent in any human being, begin with conception. That is, when sperm meets egg.

Planned Parenthood Apologizes, is Pissy for Plunging into Pro-Life Trap

An example of “shoot the messenger.”

Idaho Statesman: Response to caller ‘a serious mistake,’ says Planned Parenthood of Idaho — They also criticized The Advocate for trying to discredit employees with recorded phone calls

WHAT WAS SAID

Autumn Kersey of Planned Parenthood in Boise: Good afternoon, this is Autumn.

Donor: Hello, Autumn, I’m interested in making a donation today.

Kersey: Fantastic!

Donor: What about abortions for the underprivileged minority groups?

Kersey: Oh, absolutely. We have, um, in fact, uh wonderful, fantastic news. We just received a very generous donation to our women in need fund.

Donor: Wonderful. I want to specify that abortion to help a minority group – would that be possible?

Kersey: Absolutely.

Donor: Like the black community for example?

Kersey: Certainly.

Donor: OK, so the abortionI can give money specifically for a black baby, that would be the purpose.

Kersey: Absolutely. If you wanted to designate that you wanted your gift to be used to help (an) African-American woman in need, then we would certainly make sure that that gift was earmarked specifically for that purpose.

Donor: Great. Because I really face trouble with affirmative action, and I don’t want my kids being disadvantaged, you know, against black kids. I just had a baby; I want to put it in his name, you know.

Kersey: Mmhmm, absolutely.

Donor: So that’s definitely possible.

Kersey: Oh, always, always.

Donor: So I just wanna – can I put this in the name of my son?

Kersey: Absolutely.

Donor: Yeah, he’s trying to get into colleges, and he’s going to be applying, you know, he’s justwe’re just really bighe’s really faced troubles with affirmative action.

Kersey: Mmhmm.

Donor: And we don’t, you know, we just think, you know, the less black kids out there the better.

Kersey: (Laughs) Understandable, understandable. … Um David, let me, if I may, just get some sort of specific general information so we can set this up the right way. You said you wanted to put it in your son’s name, and you would like this designated specifically to assist (an) African-American woman who’s looking to terminate a pregnancy.

Donor: Exactly, and yeah, I wanna protect my son, so he can get into college.

Kersey: All right. Excuse my hesitation, um, um, this is the first time I’ve had a donor call and make this kind of request, so I’m excited, and I wanna make sure I don’t leave anything out.

Transcript released by The Advocate BY SANDRA FORESTER

I doubt The Advocate was trying to “discredit” Planned Parenthood’s employees so much as reveal the truth about them.

Autumn Kersey could have easily corrected this “donor.” She could have atleast said something to the effect that babies are not aborted based on their race/ethnicity/gender, etc.; she had multiple opportunities to do so. Instead, her comments either approve of what this “donor” had to say, or they shifted toward the fact that a donation was being made and not the purpose of the donation.

If Kersey does not have racist beliefs, she certainly salivated at the thought of a donation, so much so that even outrageous and racist statements didn’t bother her.

On the other hand, one ought not to expect decency from the #1 abortion provider in America.

Mental Health and Abortion

The Times: Royal college warns abortions can lead to mental illness by Sarah-Kate Templeton

Women may be at risk of mental health breakdowns if they have abortions, a medical royal college has warned. The Royal College of Psychiatrists says women should not be allowed to have an abortion until they are counseled on the possible risk to their mental health.

This overturns the consensus that has stood for decades that the risk to mental health of continuing with an unwanted pregnancy outweighs the risks of living with the possible regrets of having an abortion.

MPs will shortly vote on a proposal to reduce the upper time limit for abortions “for social reasons” from 24 weeks to 20 weeks, a move not backed by the government. A Sunday Times poll today shows 59% of women would support such a reduction, with only 28% backing the status quo. Taken together, just under half (48%) of men and women want a reduction to 20 weeks, while 35% want to retain 24 weeks.

Some MPs also want women to have a “cooling off” period in which they would be made aware of the possible consequences of the abortion, including the impact on their mental health, before they could go ahead.

Yet another example of how “consensus” has no place in science.

“The Less Black Kids, the Better” “Understandable”

Liberal support for abortion on demand is well known, as is their support of African-Americans. (It wasn’t always that way.)

But what if the abortion industry begins to target blacks for abortion? Will liberals speak out? Wouldn’t protest of such a blatantly racist organization like Planned Parenthood be an admission that abortion is in fact a holocaust on the unborn?

Sticky situation, isn’t it, libs?

But this isn’t really new. Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, was a eugenicist (1) , a Nazi supporter, and harbored intense dislike for blacks. Nor did her ignorance stop there. On population control, Sanger wrote:

It is a vicious cycle; ignorance breeds poverty and poverty breeds ignorance. There is only one cure for both, and that is to stop breeding these things. Stop bringing to birth children whose inheritance cannot be one of health or intelligence. Stop bringing into the world children whose parents cannot provide for them.

“These things.”

Sanger supported eugenics to cull those she considered unfit from the population. In 1921, she said eugenics is “the most adequate and thorough avenue to the solution of racial, political and social problems.”

At one point, Sanger lamented “the ever increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.” Another time, Sanger wrote, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”

According to Bryan Fisher, executive director of Idaho Values Alliance, Planned Parenthood, which gets an estimated $200 million annually from U.S. taxpayers, has located nearly 80 percent of its clinics nationwide in minority neighborhoods, and about one-third of all abortions are performed on blacks, even though they make up only 13 percent of the population.

Some of Margaret Sanger’s more revolting quotes here.

Recordings of the phone calls are at You Tube. Autumn Kersey, Director of Development for Planned Parenthood, Idaho, isn’t remotely troubled when she receives a phone call from a “father” who wishes to make a donation in his son’s name to Planned Parenthood. The Father claims that he is troubled by affirmative action and feels that “the less black kids, the better.” Ms. Kersey claims that this is “understandable.”

Transcripts of the calls can be found here.

Abortion supporters will likely remain silent in the face of this obvious outrage. What could be more important than the wholesale $laughter of innocent babies?

“Choose life, then, that both you and your descendants may live.” — Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV)

____________

(1) In his novel, State of Fear, author Michael Crichton observed that supporters of eugenics “included Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Winston Churchill. It was approved by Supreme Court justices Oliver Wendell Holmes and Louis Brandeis, who ruled in its favor. The famous names who supported it included Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone; activist Margaret Sanger; botanist Luther Burbank; Leland Stanford, founder of Stanford University; the novelist H. G. Wells; the playwright George Bernard Shaw; and hundreds of others. Nobel Prize winners gave support.” It also “had the support of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Medical Association, and the National Research Council.”

Give the Credit Where it is Due

Townhall: Paying for “Gender Equality” By Janice Shaw Crouse

The phrase “gender equality,” as defined by the radicals, is meaningless without a commitment to meet the genuine needs of people who are concerned with getting pure water and basic medicines like aspirin and penicillin to their villages, rather than in establishing quotas for political gamesmanship or furthering Western imperialism.

And that is the crux of the problem. The agenda includes heaping blame on the U.S. for its supposed neglect of women’s issues. Recently, however, fair journalists recognized that the United States has not received credit for the effective help over the past eight years in Africa. We provided $55 million to African nations to improve legal rights for women, and we work to end violence against women in the form of honor crimes and abuse against displaced women. The U.S. has committed $15 billion in AIDS relief in more than 120 countries (especially Africa) and $500 million to combat the transmission of HIV/AIDS from mother to child. The United States has led 110 other nations in sponsoring efforts to facilitate women’s participation in political processes. We have given $400 million for educational opportunities in Africa to benefit 80 million children. In Afghanistan and Iraq, various initiatives at a cost of over $10 million have helped women gain the skills they need to participate in civic activities that build democracy and effectively empower women. In the fight against human trafficking, the U.S. has spent $280 million in 120 countries. These are just a few of the ways that our nation is helping women achieve their potential in realistic and effective ways. In contrast, the United Nations’ agenda for women hinges on universal access to abortion-on-demand.

And without the ability to annhilate one’s unborn child, what else could possibly matter?

The Ruthless Barack Obama

The Democrat Senator Obama from Illinois, thanks to the mainstream media which avidly worships him without question, voted three times against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. “It stated all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted. “

Jill Stanek writes about the anointed “rock star” of Presidential politics who voted twice against an act that would acknowledge the right to life for BORN BABIES.
