If the campaign for nationalized health care is, as [Democrat Representative John] Conyers puts it, “done for” should [Sanjay] Gupta get the job, then anyone truly interested in public health should hope that Gupta is quickly ushered into his new job. The U.S. needs universal care like Canadians need even longer waits for treatment under their version of what Conyers, Krugman, Moore, et al. have in mind.
