Great Moments in Education: Teachers Who Live in Glass Houses

Renee Wallner don’t need no education.

George Bush Don’t Speak No Good English Neither

From the letters column of the Arizona Daily Star:

Congratulations to our new president and to all who made this historic election possible.

As a teacher, it is a pleasure to finally have someone in the White House who knows how to use the English language and who can once again be a role model for the eloquent use of our language.

Renee Wallner
Teacher, Tucson

As president, maybe Ms. Wallner will learn from Obama to finally stop splitting her infinitives and dangling her modifiers.

She don’t need no thought control.

It appears that Renee Wallner is not just any teacher in Tucson.

Renee Wallner had over 25 years of experience as a Language Arts teacher in Tucson’s Amphitheater School District,* where she taught 8th grade English.**

Renee Wallner is currently listed as a Fifth Grade teacher at Tucson’s Castlehill Country Day School,*** where her responsibilities presumably include teaching English.
