While Senator Obama isn’t responsible for his brother, George, who lives in squalor in Kenya, how does the existence of such a brother living in poor conditions square with Obama’s favorite Biblical quote in Matthew?
The Italian edition of Vanity Fair said that it had found George Hussein Onyango Obama living in a hut in a ramshackle town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.
Mr Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate’s half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not be more different than that of the Democratic contender.
“No-one knows who I am,” he told the magazine, before claiming: “I live here on less than a dollar a month.”
In the debate between John McCain and Barack Obama, hosted by pastor Rick Warren, Obama was asked what America’s greatest moral failure. Obama’s response:
“I think America’s greatest moral failure in my lifetime has been that we still don’t abide by that basic [p]recept in Matthew that whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me. And notion of — that basic principle applies to poverty. It applies to racism and sexism. It applies to, you know, not having — not thinking about providing ladders of opportunity for people to get into the middle class. I mean, there is a purvasive [sic] sense I think that this country is wealthy and powerful as we still don’t spend enough time thinking about the least of these . . .”
Nevermind the fact that America’s generosity, at least in monetary terms, is massive. And one ought not throw stones at America while having a half brother across the world living in poverty. Meanwhile, Obama has a multimillion dollar book deal and is running for the Presidency of the United States.
Consider: If John McCain had a brother in, say, Ireland, and this brother was living in poverty, how would the media react?
Telegraph: Barack Obama’s ‘lost’ brother found in Kenya — Senator Barack Obama’s long lost brother has been tracked down for the first time living in a shanty town in Kenya, reports claimed. By Nick Pisa

I think that you are trying too hard to link something that is really not there. In Africa polygamous marriages, one is not expected to be responsible for step brothers leave alone knowing them. The other thing is, Obama has very liitle link with Kenya and trying to dig up things relating to his estranged father to demonstrate that he is unable to lead is a very low blow indeed.
You expect Obama to go around looking for kids his Dad fathered and finance them? I think he did that, it would still be used against him by the media.
Lets judge him by his ability but not filial blunders that he is not responsible for!
I began my post making clear that he is NOT in fact responsible for his brother. Certainly not in any legal sense. However, when Obama poses as the embodiment of compassion, when he publicly quotes biblical verses on the responsibility humans have for another, it seems to me that he should atleast have given some of that compassion and help for his brother.
According to sycophant Nicholas D. Kristof of the New York Treason, it is true that Obama does not know his relatives well, but he also visited Kenya three times. His most recent visit was in 2006. Very little link to Kenya?

I can tell you that if I had a sibling living halfway across the world in poor conditions, I would do whatever necessary to (1) remove him/her from that environment, or (2) aid him/her financially as much as I could. Obama’s book deal from 2004 was worth 1.9 million dollars. He met his brother in 2006.

I did say Africa polygamous relationships. If I go to the village my grandfather comes from, I would be cousins to maybe 1000 people because my grandfather had 8 wives and 46 kids. My dad did not even know his step-siblings!
How then , can my dad who was financially able than his siblings cannot be blamed if his brothers who he has met 3 times live in poverty. Lets face it, meeting your step-siblings 3 times regardless of how compassionate you are does not dictate that you share your wealth with them.
So how far does Obama have to go to be compassionate finance the whole Kogelo village and clan because believe it or not, his clan is bigger than the village and your clan is your family.
Ignorance of African culture is not excuse for the nuances being made of linking him with the Obama family in Kenya.
At this rate, he will be blamed for Kenyans poverty!
But let’s stick to the subject. What would the world look like under a McCain presidency? His actions suggest that Christian faith is about being anti-abortion (NOT PRO-LIFE) and not letting gay people get married. His ACTIONS say that it is not about humility nor is it about being pro-life. The republican doctrine and corresponding actions are not pro-life.
Democratic platform is pro-life – because to be pro-life you care about the people WHO ARE LIVING!! not just the unborn.
theurbanrevolution:
I’ve read sophistry in my life, but your comment is a great example of it.
Please enlighten me: how is being anti-abortion different from being pro-life? You didn’t explain that distinction; you merely asserted it.
You assert that Republican doctrine and actions are not pro-life, which is like saying the sun is not the center of our solar system.
To claim that the Democratic party is even remotely concerned with human life is utterly false. The Democrat party openly supports euthanasia on demand and abortion on demand. Environmentalists, who are closely aligned to the Democrat Party (i.e., they own the Party) openly claim that there are too many people on earth and it would be a great thing if a whole ton of those humans died. (It would somehow be good for the environment. Amazingly, environmentalists never include themselves in the list of those who should die.)
Your assertion that Dems care about people “WHO ARE LIVING!!” not only uses unnecessary capital letters, it also fails to acknowledge that unborn babies are also living. They’re alive from the moment of conception. Anyone who was awake during sex education should know this. Any (sane) scientist can tell you this. It also fails to acknowledge the fact that the victims of euthanasia are “LIVING!!” as well.
