Democrat energy solutions: sweaters and tire gauges.
The sycophantic liberals at Time Magazine are actually in support of Obama’s suggestion that we pump our tires more to save oil. (What a fantastic plan. Anything other than increasing supply is fine with Dems and liberals.) Naturally they cannot do this without taking shots at “the oilman” Dick Cheney and “the oilman” George W. Bush.
Obama either does not understand our energy situation or is taking us for fools.

Aw c’mon now. It certainly isn’t his entire energy policy fer cryin out loud. That’s on his website, and it is pretty comprehensive. What Obama was referring to is proven ways that we can ALL help the situation, pretty much without spending a dime. Mocking him risks sending a contradictory message that they aren’t worth one’s time. I’m glad he’s talking about it.
I didn’t claim it was his entire energy policy. Nonetheless, the tire pressure idea is akin to placing a Band-Aid on a stab wound. I suspect most high school students would be too embarrassed to publicly tell the nation to check their tire pressure while demand for oil across the world goes up, our oil supply is stagnant, prices rise, and our economy is hurting,
And perhaps that is the ultimate goal of Democrats: an angry and emotional populace just prior to an election.
I dunno, if I had to choose between
a) supporting additional drilling, hoping that in 5 years that we’ve put enough extra oil on the international market to more than offset the increasing fuel consumption in places like China and India, and lower the price…eventually.
and
b) looking at ways that one can immediately save $ by using less gas individually, and collectively shifting the demand curve to lower the overall price.
I’d choose b. Then again, I’ve already chosen it, so I’m kinda biased due to the extra money in my pocket.
Why should he be embarrassed? Things like checking tire pressure, maintaining clean air filters, removing excess weight, etc. are on the EPA website. Its just physics.
I gotta thank those who made it into such a big deal like it was some sort of tremendous gaffe. In fact, I’m kinda curious how many of Obamas detractors grabbed their gauges and went into their garages to check their tires…just in case. lol
