In the name of “art,” (?) the University of Maine, which apparently has zero concept of art, decency or talent, finds the American flag to be an appropriate object to walk on.
Meanwhile, the University provost/campus asshole , speaking to a veteran of the U.S. armed forces, claims that it’s “just a piece of cloth.” (Then why chose the American flag? Why not a table cloth?)
Fortunately, there were no non-US flags nor any images of Mohammed (pbuh) featured because that would be offensive.
