Global Hypocrisy: Muslim Dependence on and Hatred of the West

The global hypocrisy of Islam today: we hate the infidels unless it benefits us. In that case, they’re not so bad for infidels.

A great irony is that while certain belligerent Muslims call for boycotts of any nation who offend them (the offense can be real or imaginary), it is the West which can and should cripple the Muslim world if it had the political will to enforce a boycott of its own.

Jihad Watch: Boycott? An Excellent Idea

Muslim societies and states are, despite being the recipients of the most fantastic transfer of wealth in human history — some ten trillion dollars since 1973 alone — economic failures, dependent still on oil and on the rentier economy of those whose rulers, and the well-connected courtiers of those rulers, have seized large amounts of that national wealth. Two generations have been raised with that vast wealth, and what has come of it? Saudi Arabia itself is still completely dependent on a vast and multifarious army of wage slaves. What art has come, what contributions to science, what signs of cultural life, other than the gold souk, and the jewelry souk, and the every-possible-kind-of-luxury car souk, and the Hediard-and-Fauchon deliveries of Parisian delicacies, and the private 747s, and the Maybachs in every other driveway of every other sheik? What? I keep quoting the observation of a Franco-Armenian architect who spent years in Saudi Arabia: “Money can buy everything, except civilization.”

And they will not have to examine either the reasons for their economic failure, and cultural stasis, and penchant for despotism, if they are constantly allowed to find whatever they need — medical care, access to education — in the West.
[...]
Every member of the ruling elites all over the Muslim world devoutly wishes to send their children to schools in the West. They recognize the wretched state of “Muslim” education. Even within their countries, they try to send their children to Christian, usually Catholic, schools . . . Even if, as a ruler or propagandist or an editor at Al Jazeera, you spend all your time denouncing that West and blackening its name, you want to send your children to that West. [...]

Nor does Western medicine, the fruit of Western science and technology, and of ways of thought inimical to Islam (which discourages free inquiry), have to be made available to Muslims who are waging war against the West. Imagine if you were suddenly told that if you didn’t change your behavior, you would no longer have access to Western doctors, Western hospitals. Such a threat would get your attention, wouldn’t it?

[Emphasis added]

Yes, it would get their attention, but imagine the reaction — not from Muslims but from Western liberals. In typical guild-laden fashion, they’d quickly scream about xenophobia and Western arrogance. Apparently it is better to protect the feelings and beliefs of others, even while those others openly announce their intent to kill you, than to defend yourself against unjustified aggression.

I think it is a quite ignorant approach in itself to categorize the current west invented dispute between Islam an the west. Islam has been in practice for over 1400 yrs and more than that as we Muslims are believe that gospel and bible were also books from the same God , Islam only completed their msg. And yes as a Muslim i don’t have anything against western colleges, hospitals, doctors, businesses and neither does Islam teach that , u need to think beyond the circumference of thought the media is building for all of us, if anything anyone has against the west is the western media continuously regimenting against tagging terrorists to Islam , whereas the Islamic organizations have clearly boycotted such people and have denounced such actions. The educated intellectual Muslims have only but one dispute with the west and that is hoe the foreign media depicts us , these ppl the suicide bombers the terrorist have harmed Islam more then anything else in the world they have harmed and killed Muslims both directly and indirectly by their actions in huge masses. we condemn them and pity their psychological conditions and reserve fears about the kind of sources which brain wash them into doing what they do , but while we try and denounce these ppl and try depict them as terrorist only so that their cause which they think is for Islam is shattered and ppl understand and so doe any potential terrorist understand that this Islam and that their death will not be portrayed as in cause of Islam , but quite unfortunately the western media continuous to portray their cause as Islamic thus promoting more and more aggression .I don’t need to go in detail about how terrorism cant be and is not allowed to be the solution for Islam and Muslims but one thing is but enough suicide in itself is a Strictly forbidden act in Islam. As you yourself said that Muslims today want to send their children to study abroad doesn’t that depict that we aren’t extremist that we don’t hate western ppl? as the media portrays. The jihadist regimes didn’t start 1400 yrs ago and our aims were not to kill ppl , but when fellow humans see their houses burn their countries ripped off and their women rapped children killed , they would terrorize in the name of anything coz the basis of humanity has been sabotaged . There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq but the so called war has made it a cultivating ground for terrorism . Please don’t judge Islam by the actions of a group of Muslims, there is a lot more to comprehend than to what you read and see.

You wrote: “the current west invented dispute between Islam an [sic] the west.”

“West invented” ? Islam has fought the West viciously for 1,400 years. The notion that the West “invented” Islamic aggression is much like blaming a provocatively dressed woman for the fact that she was raped.

“And yes as a Muslim i don’t have anything against western colleges, hospitals, doctors, businesses and neither does Islam teach that …”

Perhaps YOU do not, but Islam certainly does. The Quran, the same book which jihadists claim to be their inspiration, makes perfectly clear several times that non-Muslims (like me) are not only “unclean” (najis) but to be fought and killed if they resist conversion.

“Islamic organizations have clearly boycotted such people and have denounced such actions.”

Islamic organizations have been silent and have not condemned or denounced anything. If any such organization HAS condemned such actions, there have been too few of them.

“quite unfortunately the western media continuous [sic] to portray their cause as Islamic thus promoting more and more aggression”

The Western media is to blame for the increased aggression by jihadists? Terrorists themselves make clear that their inspiration and drive to commit murder is Islam. It is for Islam and for no other reason that terrorists do what they do. I didn’t make that claim and neither did the media; terrorists did.

“As you yourself said that Muslims today want to send their children to study abroad doesn’t that depict that we aren’t extremist that we don’t hate western ppl?”

I didn’t say it. The writer of the article did. I posted it because it is ironic that the members of a religion, whose doctrine makes clear that non-Muslims are to be converted, or fought and killed, would send their children to secular countries which do not embrace Islam. What this tells me is that when it is convenient, Muslims appear happy to take advantage of the West. At other times, however, the West, specifically the U.S.A., is “the Great Satan.” If this is not major hypocrisy and contradiction, I don’t know what is.

“The jihadist regimes didn’t start 1400 yrs ago and our aims were not to kill ppl ,”

On the contrary, after Muhammed’s death, his followers went on a mission of bloody expansion from the Middle East to Northern Africa, all the way to Spain. If not for Charles Martel of France, Islam would have likely taken over Europe.

“There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq…”

Actually around 500 WMDs were found in Iraq. There is evidence to suggest that other WMDs were moved to Syria.

“Please don’t judge Islam by the actions of a group of Muslims, there is a lot more to comprehend than to what you read and see.”

I DO understand this. However, the notion that the majority of Muslims do not engage in terrorist acts is little consolation to the victims of armed jihad. Even if 1% of Muslims believe in jihad, that would account for hundreds of thousands of people.

    dear bro :)
i suggest u read through wht i wrote not for the sake of argument but for the sake of understanding , the concept if Jihad in Islam an as given by Quran is a struggle in the way of ALLAH and doesnt necessarily mean war , however in cases of war muslims arent not allowed to ATTACK in the first place they are only allowed SELF-DEFENCE, even during SELF-Defence they arent allowed to hurt
    1. women
    2.children
    3.cattle.
    4.crops
    5.houses/assetts
however the jihadist conveniently overlook that they aren’t fighting for the accuse of ALLAH , i am a Muslim and i would give my life to safe another human not TAKE it ! these ppl are fighting in vainly and its easier to brain wash them for a cause? do u think a man like osama who claims to b a muslim an claims to fight in the cause of ALLAH would jus run away in the hiding and let women and children be killed and raped in Afghanistan , wht kinda commander does that ? Who does that ? I didnt blame the western media for the aggression i blamed them for promoting them as Muslims , while these ppl have nothing to dod with Islam , if anything they have been brainwahsed to believe that and why is it easy u ask me ? that is because ppl today donot read and understand the tru context of Quran , the book wasnt revealed for scholars it is revealed to all mankind the fact taht ppl dont comprehend it, it is easier for some ppl to manipulate the words of Quran and use them to benefit there purpopse.
here are some verses from the Quran regarding non muslims

And who believe in (the Quran and the Sunnah) which has been sent down (revealed) to you (Muhammad peace be upon him ) and in (the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.) which were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.).
    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #4)

Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad peace be upon him ) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.
    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #6)

And (remember) when We took a covenant from the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none but Allah (Alone) and be dutiful and good to parents, and to kindred, and to orphans and Al-Masakeen (the poor), (Tafsir At-Tabaree, Vol. 10, Page 158 (Verse 9:60)) and speak good to people (i.e. enjoin righteousness and forbid evil, and say the truth about Muhammad peace be upon him ), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat. Then you slid back, except a few of you, while you are backsliders. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubee, Vol. 2, Page 392).
    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #83)

Many of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even, after the truth (that Muhammad peace be upon him is Allahs Messenger) has become manifest unto them. But forgive and overlook, till Allah brings His Command. Verily, Allah is Able to do all things.
    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #109)

And they say, “Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided.” Say (to them, O Muhammad peace be upon him ), “Nay, (We follow) only the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham), Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism, i.e. to worship none but Allah (Alone)), and he was not of Al-Mushrikoon (those who worshipped others along with Allah ”
    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #135)

Say (O Muhammad peace be upon him to the Jews and Christians), “Dispute you with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? And we are to be rewarded for our deeds and you for your deeds. And we are sincere to Him in worship and obedience (i.e. we worship Him Alone and none else, and we obey His Orders).”
    ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #139)

There are some specific verses that are very often “snipped” out of context, either by those trying to malign the faith, or by misguided Muslims themselves who wish to justify their aggressive tactics.

For example, one verse (in its snipped version) reads: “slay them wherever you catch them” (Qur’an 2:191). But who is this referring to? Who are “they” that this verse discusses? The preceding and following verses give the correct context:

“Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevails justice and faith in God; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression” (2:190-193).

  4. sana saleem Says:

It is clear from the context that these verses are discussing a defensive war, when a Muslim community is attacked without reason, oppressed and prevented from practicing their faith. In these circumstances, permission is given to fight back — but even then Muslims are instructed not to transgress limits, and to cease fighting as soon as the attacker gives up. Even in these circumstances, Muslim are only to fight directly against those who are attacking them, not innocent bystanders or non-combatants.

similar verse can be found in chapter 9, verse 5 — which in its snipped, out of context version could read: “fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war).” Again, the preceding and following verses give the context.

This verse was revealed during a historical period when the small Muslim community had entered into treaties with neighboring tribes (Jewish, Christian, and pagan). Several of the pagan tribes had violated the terms of their treaty, secretly aiding an enemy attack against the Muslim community. The verse directly before this one instructs the Muslims to continue to honor treaties with anyone who has not since betrayed them, because fulfilling agreements is considered a righteous action. Then the verse continues, that those who have violated the terms of the treaty have declared war, so fight them… (as quoted above). The verse however continues and right after this it is said
“but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them… for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.” The subsequent verses instruct the Muslims to grant asylum to any member of the pagan tribe/army who asks for it, and again reminds that “as long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God loves the righteous.”

The Islamic teachings on this subject can be summed up in the following verses (Qur’an 60:7-8):

“It may be that God will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For God has power (over all things), and God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

God does not forbid you, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loves those who are just.”

    Quran on terrorism
    if anyone slays a person
    - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land -
it would be as if he slew all people.
And if anyone saves a life,
it would be as if he saved the life of all people.
    Qur’an 5:32

Invite all to the way of your Lord
    with wisdom and beautiful preaching.
    And argue with them
in ways that are best and most gracious…
    And if you punish,
    let your punishment be proportional
to the wrong that has been done to you.
But if you show patience, that is indeed the best course.
Be patient, for your patience is from God.
And do not grieve over them,
or distress yourself because of their plots.
For God is with those who restrain themselves,
    and those who do good.
    Qur’an 16:125-128

    Oh you who believe!
Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God,
even against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin,
and whether it be against rich or poor,
for God can best protect both.
Follow not the cravings of your hearts, lest you swerve,
and if you distort justice or decline to do justice,
verily God is well acquainted with all that you do.
    Qur’an 4:135

    The recompense for an injury
is an injury equal thereto (in degree),
but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation,
his reward is due from God,
for God loves not those who do wrong.
But indeed, if any do help and defend themselves
after a wrong done to them,
against such there is no cause of blame.
The blame is only against those who oppress men
    with wrongdoing and insolently transgress
    beyond bounds through the land,
    defying right and justice.
For such there will be a penalty grievous (in the Hereafter).
But indeed, if any show patience and forgive,
that would truly be an affair of great resolution.
    Qur’an 42:40-43

Goodness and evil are not equal.
Repel evil with what is better.
Then that person with whom there was hatred,
    may become your intimate friend!
And no one will be granted such goodness
except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,
none but people of the greatest good fortune.
    Qur’an 41:34-35

  5. sana saleem Says:

    . No compulsion in religion.

With which sword was Islam spread? Even if Muslims had it they could not use it to spread Islam because the Qur’an says in the following verse:

’Let there be no compulsion in religion:
Truth stands out clear from error’
    [Al-Qur’an 2:256]

    Sword of the Intellect.

It is the sword of intellect. The sword that conquers the hearts and minds of people. The Qur’an says in Surah Nahl, chapter 16 verse 125:

’Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord
    with wisdom and beautiful preaching;
and argue with them in ways that are
    best and most gracious.’
    [Al-Qur’an 16:125]

The Qur’an describes Jihad as a system of checks and balances, as a way that Allah set up to “check one people by means of another.” When one person or group transgresses their limits and violates the rights of others, Muslims have the right and the duty to “check” them and bring them back into line. There are several verses of the Qur’an that describe jihad in this manner. One example:

“And did not Allah check one set of people by means of another,
    the earth would indeed be full of mischief;
but Allah is full of Bounty to all the worlds”
    -Qur’an 2:251

Islam never tolerates unprovoked aggression from its own side; Muslims are commanded in the Qur’an not to begin hostilities, embark on any act of aggression, violate the rights of others, or harm the innocent.

The word Jihad stems from the Arabic root word J-H-D, which means “strive.” Other words derived from this root include “effort,” “labor,” and “fatigue.” Essentially Jihad is an effort to practice religion in the face of oppression and persecution. The effort may come in fighting the evil in your own heart, or in standing up to a dictator. Military effort is included as an option, but as a last resort and not “to spread Islam by the sword” as the stereotype would have one believe.

In the end i would only want to say but onething that is taught to me by the Quran itself
Say: “O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: that we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.” If then they turn back, say ye: “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah’s Will).” Quran 3.64

I condemn the killing of innocent ppl whether in Ieaq or america or israel or britain , it is humanity that suffers st the hand of such people who dont belong o any religion. how can they when they can be proud of such acts of inhumanity . but as humans and as educated individuals we also know that exposure to certain degree of cruelty and barbarism can let one to let go of all humanity with in them , they will fall for anything and everything because their minds have been crippled by such obscenity and blood shed , if ur mother and sisters are raped if u loose ur children and see ppl dying all around u it is but extremely easy for someone and may it be anyone to brainwash into dong things, at that point in time one doesnt think of anything really they jus need a platform and this time sadly it is Islam , i whole heartedly accept taht muslims today are at fault but not all of them , and those who are at fault are beacuse they choose to indulge into everything else except ebracing the true essence of islam :)

  6. tsfiles Says:

I applaud your condemnation of terrorist acts. I acknowledge that the vast majority of Muslims have no ill will or malicious intent toward anyone. I am sure that the vast majority simply wish to raise their families, earn a living, and live in peace. However, it is not Muslims who are the problem so much as Islam’s doctrine which is openly followed by terrorists.

“The Qur’an contains 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers, and kill the infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

“These verses are mostly open-ended, meaning that they are not embedded within historical context (as are nearly all of the Old Testament verses of violence). They are part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah, and just as relevant or subjective as anything else in the Qur’an.

“Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed. This proclivity toward violence and Muhammad’s own martial tradition have resulted in a trail of blood and bodies across world history.”

    http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Quran/023-violence.htm

I am not suggesting that the interpretation (by terrorists) of these verses is necessarily correct. Anyone who commits the horrible acts that these young men commit are likely not the most intelligent or intellectual. However, it is difficult to deny that even as the Quran tells the reader that there is “no compulsion in religion,” many verses make clear that there is indeed a lot of compulsion in religion.

    Some of these verses:

“And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]…and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.”

    http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/002.qmt.html#002.191

“Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-”

    http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/004.qmt.html#004.095

Note: (”This passage not only criticizes “peaceful” Muslims who do not join in the violence, but also demolishes the modern myth that “Jihad” doesn’t mean holy war in the Qur’an, but rather a spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption. [The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man's protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad].” ;)

“They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”

“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”

Now 4 of the verses mentioned above are from the same chapter of the QURAN which is named TAUBAH means repentance , it is extremely imp for u to know the historical background of the time and place these revelations were sent this will give u a cleared concept that these verses arent just there out of context .

This Sura comprises three discourses The first discourse (vv. 1-37) was revealed in Zil-Qa’adah A. H. 9 or thereabout. As the importance of the subject of the discourse required its declaration on the occasion of Hajj the Holy Prophet despatched Hadrat Ali to follow Hadrat Abu Bakr who had already left for Makkah as leader of the Pilgrims to the Ka’abah. He instructed Hadrat Ali to deliver the discourse before the representatives of the different clans of Arabia so as to inform them of the new policy towards the mushriks. The second discourse (vv. 38-72) was sent down in Rajab A. H. 9 or a little before this when the Holy Prophet was engaged in making preparations for the Campaign of Tabuk. In this discourse the Believers were urged to take active part in jihad and the shirkers were severely rebuked for holding back their wealth and for hesitation to sacrifice their lives in the way of Allah because of their hypocrisy weak faith or negligence. The third discourse (vv. 73-I 29) was revealed on his return from the Campaign of Tabuk. There are some pieces in this discourse that were sent down on different occasions during the same period and were afterwards consolidated by the Holy Prophet into the Sura in accordance with inspiration from Allah. But this caused no interruption in its continuity because they dealt with the same subject and formed part of the same series of events. This discourse warns the hypocrites of their evil deeds and rebukes those Believers who had stayed behind in the Campaign of Tabuk. Then after taking them to task Allah pardons those true Believers who had not taken part in the Jihad in the Way of Allah for one reason or the other. Chronologically the first discourse should have come last; but being the most important of the three in regard to its subject-matter it was placed first in the order of compilation.

The series of events that have been discussed in this Sura took place after the Peace Treaty of Hudaibiyah. By that time one-third of Arabia had come under the sway of Islam which had established itself as a powerful well organized and civilized Islamic State. This Treaty afforded further opportunities to Islam to spread its influence in the comparatively peaceful atmosphere created by it. After this Treaty two events took place which led to very important results.
*conquest of Arabia * campaign to tabuk
As a result of the treaty between the muslims and the non believers Holy Prophet was able to send missions among different clans for the propagation of Islam. The result was that during the short period of two years it spread swiftly. So much so that the zealous elements from among the Quraish were so exasperated that they broke the Treaty in order to encounter Islam in a decisive combat. The verses revealed during this point and time arent addressing muslims of today but addressing the muslims in that era to prepare for self defence , it is like a commander speaking to his army and not yielding terrorists.

The Campaign to Tabuk was the result of conflict with the Roman Empire that had started even before the conquest of Makkah. One of the missions sent after the Treaty of Hudaibiyah to different parts of Arabia visited the clans which lived in the northern areas adjacent to Syria. The majority of these people were Christians who were under the influence of the Roman Empire. Contrary to all the principles of the commonly accepted international law they killed fifteen members of the delegation near a place known as Zat-u-Talah (or Zat-i-Itlah). Only Ka’ab bin Umair Ghifari the head of the delegation succeeded in escaping and reporting the sad incident. Besides this Shurahbll bin Amr the Christian governor of Busra who was directly under the Roman Caesar had also put to death Haritli bin Umair the ambassador of the Holy Prophet who had been sent to him on a similar minion. These events convinced the Holy Prophet that a strong action should be taken in order to make the territory adjacent to the Roman Empire safe and secure for the Muslims. Accordingly in the month of Jamadi-ul-Ula A. H. 8 he sent an army of three thousand towards the Syrian border. It is also very important to know that this was also as a result of a breach of treaty from the other side and not AN ATTACK , also the graphic details that you might as well talk about are just in accordance to the situation I would repeat it is as if a commander speaks to his army specially in this case when the other side force had with an army of one hundred thousand to fight-with them and that the Caesar who himself was at Hims had sent another army consisting of one hundred thousand soldiers under his brother Theodore. The ratio was 1:33 .

  9. sana saleem Says:

“Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-”

[The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man's protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad].”)

Please kindly also ponder over the verse right before this
O you who believe! when you go to war in Allah’s way, make investigation, and do not say to any one who offers you peace: You are not a believer. Do you seek goods of this world’s life! But with Allah there are abundant gains; you too were such before, then Allah conferred a benefit on you; therefore make investigation; surely Allah is aware of what you do.

Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them

These verses have been taken from chapter 4 NISA the women

This Sura comprises several discourses which were revealed on different occasions during the period ranging probably between the end of A. H. 3 and the end of A. H. 4 or the beginning of A. H. 5. Although it is difficult to determine the exact dates of their revelations
    a) We know that the instructions about the division of inheritance of the martyrs and for the safeguard of the rights of the orphans were sent down after the Battle of Uhud in which 70 Muslims were killed. Then naturally the question of the division of the inheritance of the martyrs and the safeguard of the rights of their orphans arose in many families at Al-Madinah. From this we conclude that vv. 1 -28 were revealed on that occasion. (b) We learn from the Traditions that the Commandment about salat during war time was given on the occasion of Zat-ur-Riqa’a an expedition which took place in A. H. 4. From this we conclude that the discourse containing v. 102 was revealed on that occasion. (c) The last warning (v. 47) to the Jews was given before the Banu Nadir were exiled from Al-Madinah in Rabi’-ulAwwal A. H. 4. From this it may safely be concluded that the discourse containing v. 47 must have been revealed some time before that date. (d) The permission about tayammum(the performance of ablutions with pure dust in case no water be available) was given during the Bani-al-Mustaliq expedition which took place in A. H. 5.. Therefore the probable period of the revelation of the discourse containing v. 43 was A. H. 5.he conduct of the hypocrites has been criticized and the distinctive features of hypocrisy and true faith have been clearly marked off to enable the Muslims to distinguish between the two. In order to cope with the aftermath of the Battle of Uhud Inspiring discourses were sent down to urge the Muslims to face the enemy bravely for the defeat in the Battle had so emboldened the mushrik Arab clans and the neighboring Jews and the hypocrites at home that they were threatening the Muslims on all sides. At this critical juncture Allah filled the Muslims with courage and gave them such instructions as were needed during that period of war clouds. In order to counteract the fearful rumors that were being spread by the hypocrites and the Muslims of weak faith they were asked to make a thorough enquiry into them and to inform the responsible people about them. Then they were experiencing some difficulties in offering their salat during the expeditions to some places where no water was available for performing their ablutions etc. In such cases they were allowed to cleanse themselves with pure earth and to shorten the salat or to offer the “Salat of Fear” when they were faced with danger. Instructions were also given for the solution of the puzzling problem of those Muslims who were scattered among the unbelieving Arab clans and were often involved in war. They were asked to migrate to Al-Madinah the abode of Islam. This Sura also deals with the case of Bani Nadir who were showing a hostile and menacing attitude in spite of the peace treaties they had made with the Muslims. They were openly siding with the enemies of Islam and hatching plots against the Holy Prophet and the Muslim Community even at AI-Madinah itself. They were taken to task for their inimical behavior and given a final warning to change their attitude and were at last exiled from Al-Madinah on account of their misconduct. The problem of the hy The main object of this Sura is to teach the Muslims the ways that unite a people and make them firm and strong. Introductions for the stability of family which is the nucleus of community have been given. Then they have been urged to prepare themselves for defence. Side by side with these they have been taught the importance of the propagation of Islam. Above all the importance of the highest moral character in the scheme of consolidation of the Community has been impressed.

  10. sana saleem Says:

“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”

For this reason did We prescribe to the children of Israel that whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men; and certainly Our messengers came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.

I would really want to do a background check on the following work as well but am short of time and I guess this matter is enough to read for today however I insist that u ask such queations , u say there are a 109 verses I say bring as many as u can J and I will be pleased to answer and help with everyone of them J , I know what I follow and I know that my ALLAH instructed me to mantian kinship with brothers of the book unless they fall to dispute, and they share ALLAH’s glory with others J , ISLAM is not a new religion we believe that it is a completion of all the religions in the world, it has qoutations from the bible and the gospel it talks about that time and the arab era and the future too , that is exactly why it is very easy to loose to misuse the verses of the QURAN but as u can see jus reading the verse below or above it clears the scenario for oneself
