At least that is what the father of Venus and Serena Williams believes. What’s his evidence? Well, he has none, but evidence is never necessary to prove racism. Simply uttering the charge (in public preferably) is all that’s needed.

WTA head Larry Scott said Thursday that he strongly disagrees with comments made by Richard Williams, father of Serena and Venus, regarding racism on the women’s tour.

Saying he was disappointed by Williams’ recent remarks during an interview in India, Scott said in a statement: “The Tour has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to racism, and I have previously let Mr. Williams know that he should let me know if he ever had evidence of racist comments or acts in women’s professional tennis.”

While his daughters were playing earlier this month in Bangladore, India, where Venus reached the quarterfinals and Serena won the title, Williams told the Deccan Herald, “Well, I’m black and I’m prejudiced, very prejudiced. People are prejudiced in tennis. I don’t think Venus or Serena was ever accepted by tennis. They never will be.”

He said the media treated his daughters unfairly, that it was “the worst media job that they have done on any human being in the world,” and that if he were Serena and Venus, he would have quit playing.

“But if you get some little white no-good trasher in America like Tracy Austin or Chris Evert, who cannot hit the ball, they (the media) will claim this is great,” he said.

Scott said, “Champions like Chris Evert and Tracy Austin have done so much to help build women’s tennis to where it is today, and it is regrettable that anyone would criticize them in this manner.”

The Williams sisters haven’t played at Indian Wells since 2001. They were booed after Venus pulled out of a semifinal match against her sister, citing knee tendinitis. Serena went on to win the title, but was booed during and after the championship match.

Note the lack of self-awareness. This loud mouth of a father believes the world takes racist attitudes around his daughters, but smearing two white women as “little white no-good trasher[s]” who “can’t hit the ball” is alright.

Maybe if the Williams sisters were less arrogant, less unlikeable, they might be treated a little better. Call me crazy.

But with a father like this who smears people with baseless accusations of racism while insulting two of the best tennis players in history, any wonder why his daughters carry on the way they do?

A dire food shortage across North Korea has become so acute it has started to affect the country’s elite in the capital, Pyongyang, reports say.

Aid agency Good Friends says food rations for some parts of the city have been cut by up to 60%, while others have seen their supplies cut off completely.

Only citizens who show absolute loyalty to leader Kim Jong Il and his regime are allowed to live in Pyongyang and are considered better off than their fellow countrymen.

But the food situation, which has mostly been felt in rural areas where rations have been suspended since November, has now spread to the city, according to the South Korean aid agency.

“Even ranking officials have run out of their (rationed) food supply, while a ban on (private) trade is strictly maintained,” said an unidentified city official quoted by Good Friends.

The city of Chicago, following the footsteps of England’s highly successful Energy Saving Day, has decided to become one of 24 partner cities1. in “Earth Hour.”

“Originating in Sydney in 2007, the Earth Hour campaign has now gained global attention. As a result, on 8pm March 29, 2008 millions of people in some of the world’s major capital cities will unite and switch off for Earth Hour.”

So the citizens of these cities are being guilt-tripped into shutting off the electricity for — drum roll — one God blessed hour: from 8pm to 9pm.

The earth is trembling in joy. And maybe so are criminals whose might take advantage of all the darkness to commit some of their felonious deeds.

At the website for Earth Hour, you’ll note the shift in enviro-cabulary: there are four references to “climate change” and only one reference to “global warming.” Liberals love tinkering with words and labels, especially if it can obfuscate the truth. In this case, “global warming” is a hoax; “global cooling” of the mid 1970s was all wrong, but environmentalists storm ahead (no pun intended) anyway with “climate change.”

Climate change is perhaps the most significant issue facing our planet today. We are beginning to witness dramatic impacts as a result of the amount of carbon we load into the atmosphere. To alter the current course of climate change we must act now.

The assumption in all this is that (1) humanity is the cause of global warming “climate change,” (2) humanity must do something about this change and that (3) it is capable of positively impacting the climate.

The arrogance is astounding, especially considering the myriad of (ignored) arguments that cast doubt upon or debunk global warming “climate change.”

Liberals have politicized the weather to the point that even the “early” appearance of seasons is evidence of global warming. At this point, I think it’s reasonable to ask: is there anything that global warming does NOT cause?
