John McCain — Remember Him? — Takes Lead

Reuters: Obama’s lead over Clinton narrows: Reuters poll By Steve Holland

Democrat Barack Obama’s big national lead over Hillary Clinton has all but evaporated in the U.S. presidential race, and both Democrats trail Republican John McCain, according a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

A more logical headline would be “McCain Leads Obama, Clinton,” but Reuters doesn’t want to risk the chance that you’ll actually think that a Republican nominee even exists.  If you’re a highly biased and politicized news organization (although I repeat myself) it’s much better to focus on the two Democrat candidates.

Another Lunatic Pastor — Pastor Manning

March 19, 2008

Meet Pastor Manning, an egomaniac who screamed at his congregation about Barack Obama, who he considers “a long legged freak.” Manning laughably claimed that the “Obama girl” is a “54 DD,” which is absurd. If the slender media whore also known as “Obama girl” is a 54DD, then Rosie O’Donnell is Victoria’s Secret model.

He calls his own congregation “despicable” and without integrity in-part because they support a man who has a white woman for his mother. Now consider what this man said. Imagine a white pastor insulting his congregation because they support a man for president whose father is African.

What he says about affirmative action might shock you too.

Like Jeremiah Wright, Manning is historically ignorant. He claims blacks have been enslaved for “500 years,” which is weird considering that slavery began in the early 1600s and ended in 1865, but I guess basic facts are irrelevant.

And Manning will certainly get away with these comments. But if Manning’s name was, say, Pat Robertson

The Never Ending Story: Race in America

March 19, 2008

I will not patronize blacks by pretending Obama’s pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is anything other than a raving racist loon. If a white pastor had said what Rev. Wright said — not about black people, but literally, the exact same things — I think we’d notice that he’s crazier than Ward Churchill and David Duke’s love child. (Indeed, both Churchill and the Rev. Wright referred to the attacks of 9/11 as the chickens coming “home to roost.”)

Imagine a white pastor saying: “Racism is the American way. Racism is how this country was founded, and how this country is still run. … We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority. And believe it more than we believe in God.”

[...]

Imagine a white pastor saying: “No, no, no, God damn America — that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people! God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human! God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme!”

We treat blacks like children, constantly talking about their temper tantrums right in front of them with airy phrases about black anger. I will not pat blacks on the head and say, “Isn’t that cute?” As a post-racial American, I do not believe “the legacy of slavery” gives black people the right to be permanently ill-mannered.

Obama tried to justify Wright’s deranged rants by explaining that “legalized discrimination” is the “reality in which Rev. Wright and other African-Americans of his generation grew up.” He said that a “lack of economic opportunity among black men, and the shame and frustration that came from not being able to provide for one’s family, contributed to the erosion of black families.”

That may accurately describe the libretto of “Porgy and Bess,” but it has no connection to reality. By Rev. Wright’s own account, he was 12 years old and was attending an integrated school in Philadelphia when Brown v. Board of Education was announced, ending “separate but equal” schooling.

Meanwhile, at least since the Supreme Court’s decision in University of California v. Bakke in 1978 — and obviously long before that, or there wouldn’t have been a case or controversy for the court to consider — it has been legal for the government to discriminate against whites on the basis of their race.

Consequently, any white person 30 years old or younger has lived, since the day he was born, in an America where it is legal to discriminate against white people. In many cases it’s not just legal, but mandatory, for example, in education, in hiring and in Academy Award nominations.

What Liberals Consider “Bigotry”

March 19, 2008

Simply reporting the truth, facts, and reality can be “bigotry” to many liberals.

Townhall: Obama’s Church of Slurs By Brent Bozell III

Through months of outrage over Obama the Supposed Muslim, reporters have largely ignored the church Obama attends in Chicago. The Trinity United Church of Christ claims to be “unashamedly black and unapologetically Christian.” It proclaims it’s a church of “an African people, who remain ‘true to our native land,’ the mother continent, the cradle of civilization.” You can’t tell conservatives that if their church said it was “a European people,” committed to the European culture and motherland, that reporters wouldn’t smell white supremacy between the lines.

Then there is Obama’s minister, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who in 2007 offered the “Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award” to a man who “truly epitomized greatness,” anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam.

Deep Thoughts By Feminists

March 19, 2008

Marianna Williamson, author of many insubstantial new age books, shocks us with some common sense: she’s not voting with her vagina.

Liberals consider this “deep thinking.”

It would also take a hell of lot of muscle control to vote using vaginal muscles. That’s one powerful puss.

Anyway, considering that feminists live their whole lives by their vagina, it’s nice to see them take an occasional break.

(By the way, when did Marianne Williamson become a “feminist” icon?)
